Ways to support
There are many ways you can support the School. Every gift, no matter how large or small, makes an impact on the continued success of the students.
Central to the ethos of Cranbrook School has been the desire to provide families locally and further afield with the opportunity to access the very best educational experience that a school can provide. It is our belief at Cranbrook that every student deserves to fulfil his or her potential. We aim to help all our students develop into well rounded people with a love of learning and to succeed to the very best of their abilities. Whether strengths lie in the classroom, on the sports field, in the concert hall or on the stage, we want to provide opportunities which will enhance every students' education.
As a state school, we do not have a large endowment to draw upon to provide the ideal facilities and care which we believe our pupils should benefit from. Our long-term development aim is to create a fund for Cranbrook School that can be called upon to facilitate innovation, experience and address the building development needs for the School in the longer term. This may be through funding new facilities or provision of specialist teaching. This fund will help us cater for the rich variety of activities students experience at Cranbrook whilst continually generating future revenue ensuring that no potential need goes unmet in years to come.
There is a steadily increasing demand for us to spend money in many areas. Whilst public funding contributes to these, it is only enough to cover general running costs and emergency work only and cannot provide all the facilities and opportunities we believe our students deserve. We seek to offer a quality of education normally associated with independent schools even though we only receive around one fifth of the funding per student. Our hope is that as many people as possible can support our Annual Fund so that students can benefit from new projects every year, making an immediate and tangible difference to their education
The aim of the School's Annual Fund is twofold:
- to maintain our additional facilities, which unfortunately fall outside state funding
- to finance the strategic projects that will enhance the educational experience for every student.
In recent years, the Annual Fund has helped us to finance specialist teaching equipment, improvements to sports facilities, Art and Design and Sixth Form Centre refurbishments and an upgrade to our IT provision.
This is a continuous process, one that brings immediate benefits to the student population, whilst laying down the foundations for future growth.
Leaving a legacy to Cranbrook gives you the chance to become a major benefactor to the School. Historically, legacies have provided funding that has enabled Cranbrook to become the school it is today, nearly 500 years after its foundation. Please contact the Development Office for more information.
Corporate sponsorship of our sports teams, school facilities and expeditions is available on request. Our pupils travel across the globe for charitable work as well as for school trips and sports fixtures. We are always looking to expand our business links with the wider community and have an exciting calendar of events and matches to choose from. Please contact our Development Office for more information.
Many Old Cranbrookians have become involved in helping our students by giving careers advice, offering work experience and speaking at careers events. The type of support is always gratefully received. To find out more click here.
